Musical Merit's Close Encounters
San Diego, CA
Carlos went to various schools throughout San Diego to share his story with young musicians and school students. He also performed a program accompanied by Katherine Dvoskin.The works ranged from a Rococo piece written by C.P.E. Bach to the wild style of The Great Train Race.

National Flute Association's High School Soloist Competition
Chicago, IL
Competed in the final round of the High School Solo Competition and was awarded the Deveaux Scholarship for the best performance of the newly commissioned work.

Carnegie Hall's National Youth Orchestra
National tour:
Purchase and New York City, NY; Lenox, MA; Boone, NC; Chicago, IL; Teton VIllage WY; Sonoma, CA; Los Angeles, CA
Toured the country with a group of the country's most talentd young musicians. They had a 2 week residency at SUNY Purchase in Purchase, NY before heading on a cross-country tour from New York City to Los Angeles. Highlights include playing at Carnegie Hall, performing on NPR's From the Top and picking blueberries in the North Carolina countryside.
